Research on wearable-based rest tremor assessment presented in Porto
AI-PROGNOSIS was represented at the IEEE-EMBS International Conference on Body Sensor Networks (BSN 2026), held on 10–12 October 2026 in Porto, Portugal.
Nikos Grammalidis (Centre for Research & Technology Hellas – CERTH) presented the poster “Clustering-Constrained Attention Learning for Wearable-Based Rest Tremor Assessment”.
The study addresses wearable-based assessment of rest tremor in Parkinson’s disease using wrist-worn accelerometer data. The proposed method analyses short accelerometer windows to identify tremor-relevant segments and support both rest tremor detection and severity estimation.
The method was evaluated using data from the MJFF Levodopa Response Study and showed improved performance on held-out test data for both rest tremor detection and severity estimation.
