Co-Creating the Future of Parkinson’s Care with Patients

30 Oct 2024

Empowering Patients To Shape The mAI-Care App Through Their Insights

On October 22 and 23, 2024, our AI-PROGNOSIS Patient Panel participated in two focused workshops aimed at shaping the mAI-Care app. Eight participants from France, Germany, Portugal, Spain, Sweden, and the UK – all living with Parkinson’s disease – reviewed possible data visualisations and shared insights on the app’s design and usability.

The Patient Panel is crucial to our project as co-creators, ensuring that our tools address real needs. The group consists of 13 members, with an average age of 52 and an average of 9 years since their diagnosis. Their experience and foundational understanding of AI and eHealth guide our work, helping us make our tools more accessible and effective.

The workshops were designed to gather feedback on the proposed data visualisations for the mAI-Care app and to address user experience concerns. This feedback is instrumental in deciding which features will enhance the app's usability. Following the workshops, we plan to continue refining the app’s design and will conduct additional sessions to further discuss how data will be displayed, ensuring a user-friendly experience.

By integrating the perspectives of our Patient Panel, we aim to create tools that truly support the Parkinson's disease community.
