Webinar: Parkinson's Disease and Artificial Intelligence – What Does AI Mean for Us Living with Parkinson's?

22 Apr 2026

Join this webinar to explore how artificial intelligence is being applied in Parkinson’s research, disease monitoring and future treatment development

Artificial intelligence – or AI – is everywhere today. But what does it actually mean? And how can this new technology affect the lives of people with Parkinson's disease (PD) and their families?

Join a webinar for an accessible introduction to AI and how it can be applied in PD. You will get an overview of what AI is, what types exist, and how AI is already being used today to understand symptoms, track disease progression, and develop the treatments of the future.

  • Time: Wednesday, 20 May 2026, 18:00–19:30 Central European Time (12 noon - 1:30 PM EST)

  • Location: Online via Zoom (link sent a week before the webinar)

  • The webinar will be held in English

Presenters

All presenters are part of the research group PATH at Uppsala University.

We will also present information from the Horizon Europe research and innovation project AI-PROGNOSIS, which aims to advance PD diagnosis and care.

During the webinar there will be an opportunity to ask questions and discuss: What seems promising – and what raises concerns? How can people with PD and their loved ones contribute to ensuring AI is developed in the best possible way?
